Don't
Poetry
Don’t be nice…even though that natural action is inside of you
Don’t try to show your humanity…even if it could cure someone’s blues
Don’t show your empathy… even though your heart and soul always cries on cue
Don’t be needy… even though you have needs
Don’t show too much of your personality…even though it makes you who you are
Don’t you dare try to shine…even though you’re a sparkling star
If we can’t be?
If we can’t freely give?
Then is it necessary to keep trying to live?
In this contained earth box
Where everything is forced to behave like a robot
So many silent rules and regulations
Leave little room for negotiation
And put many in danger of isolation
Now granted
Certain life rules must be planted
To grow flowers within all of us
And gain trust
From other gardens
But being hardened
Being guarded 24/7 is exhausting
To win temporary social points
That will eventually crumble into dust
While the wicked have overwhelming power
I’d rather proceed to the next chapter
Maybe there, I’ll live happily ever after
Thanks for reading!
